Michael Ford, marketing development manager at Mentor Graphics, and I-Connect007 editor Andy Shaughnessy discuss Mentor's Open Manufacturing Language (OML), a specification for shopfloor communication that is open and free for everybody to use.

He talks about the challenges in supporting the hundreds of thousands of machines that are out there at shopfloors already, and how their Valor IoT Manufacturing Solution, a hardware device with embedded software for live data collection from all shop-floor machines and processes, can make "Internet of Manufacturing" affordable and accessible for everybody in the industry.
