Can Competitors Cooperate?

As EMS companies face industry-wide issues like lead-free reliability and stricter environmental regulations, the need for cooperation is becoming more readily apparent. Last week, EMS007 attended an SMTA Silicon Valley Chapter Meeting. We had the opportunity to conduct several interviews, each trying to find out if association and consortia work actually pays a dividend. Our first interview was with Jasbir Bath, a lead engineer on the Flextronics Technology Development team.
