We’re still not officially into summer yet, but Atlanta is bringing the heat, baby! It’s hit 97 degrees a few times this week, and I now have a fan aimed right at my face. At least it’s nice and humid too. I’m glad I don’t wear make-up. And it’s been a hot week in the circuit board community. Among Jewish theologians of the 1st century AD, there was a significant debate about whether or not resurrection was possible. PCB designers in the early 21st century have had a similar concern about future availability of nonwoven aramid laminate and prepreg. The stakes may be somewhat less (depending on your theological bent), but the future of a wide variety of programs designed around the properties of (Dare I mention the name?) Thermount(R) hangs in the balance. What was Thermount exactly and why was there such a furor when DuPont announced its premature demise?
